XCOM: Enemy Unknown gained notoriety for being the title that actually aspired to recreate the magic of the series while still making it trendy. Firaxis Games recently released a gameplay walkthrough for the same – which is the same walkthrough it showed behind closed doors at PAX 2012 and this year’s E3.

Lead designer Jake Solomon showcases some of the story, along with the tactical action RPG gameplay governing it.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown releases on October 9th for PS3, XBox 360 and PC, and those who pre-purchase it can receive the Elite Soldier Pack for free.
