Nintendo will be capping off what has doubtless been the best first year a system has ever had – and I mean ever – with Xenoblade Chronicles 2, the next entry in their premier role playing game franchise. The company confirmed today that the game, which has long been announced for 2017, will be making it out this year after all, with its release date being finally announced as December 1, 2017.

That’s not all- we got to see a lot of the game, too, including a look at its world, its characters, the setup for its story, and of course, the gameplay itself (which, it now seems like the battle system has changed from the one used in Xenoblade and Xenoblade X).

Nintendo also announced a new, limited edition Xenoblade themed Pro controller, as well as a Special Limited Edition for Xenoblade Chronicles 2– you can check both of these, as well as the gameplay footage for the game, out for yourself below. Xenoblade Chronicles 2 will be launching exclusively on the Nintendo Switch.
