Nintendo and Monolith Soft’s successful sequel to the cult hit and beloved fan favorite Xenoblade Chronicles is soon about to get some characters crossing over from that game into the new one. Nintendo has confirmed during their Treehouse steams today that Shulk and Fiora, the two protagonists from that game, will be coming to Xenoblade Chronicles 2 tomorrow.

The game will be getting a new Challenge Battle mode, and the characters will be playable in that, with some neat little story snippets tied to them as well. It doesn’t look like they will be playable in the main story of the game (if you have played the game through to the end, you know why that wouldn’t make any sense).

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is out now exclusively on the Nintendo Switch. A follow up standalone prequel, Xenoblade 2: Torna, The Golden Country is coming this September. If you haven’t already played this great RPG, now would be a fantastic time to jump in.
