Yakuza Restoration Gameplay Revealed, Arrives for PS4, PS3 and PS Vita in 2014

Take on the Shinsengumi and usher in a new era on PS4.

Sega had a presence at Sony’s recent presser, and revealed the first gameplay trailer for the upcoming Yakuza Restoration, which will release as Yakuza Ishin in Japan. It was also revealed that Ishin will be releasing in Japan on Februrary 22nd 2014 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PS Vita. It will be launching in time for the PS4’s launch in Japan.

Yakuza Ishin will be set during the Edo era, with Sakamoto Ryōma as the protagonist during the Bakumatsu Period wherein the Tokugawa Shogunate was brought to an end and the Meiji Restoration began. Ryōma’s day to day activities included brokering peace between Samurai factions while dealing enemies such as the Shinsengumi. Will he be assassinated just like in real life though?

The gameplay footage above may not whet your appetite for Tenchu or Onimusha on the PlayStation 4 but Yakuza Ishin/Restoration looks interesting enough. Stay tuned for more details as the release date approaches next yet.
