A Resident Evil TV Series May Be Coming

The Walking Resident. The Dead Evil.

The Resident Evil games may have gone down the drain in terms of quality; the movies may be awful (albeit they still remain among the biggest money spinners at the box office in Hollywood). But in spite of all of this, Resident Evil, the brand, remains as big as it ever was, if not bigger. And in today’s climate, where literally anything with zombies in it is assured success, it makes sense that its popularity continues to grow. Therefore, it should not come as a shock to you that the German film production house, Constantin Film, is looking at bringing a Resident Evil series to TV.

Variety reports that this is part of a larger effort on Constantin’s part to expand its portfolio and global footprint, and that the new Resident Evil TV series is aiming to go on air some time after the next (and last in the series) movie releases next year.

I actually personally think that Resident Evil has more scope to work as a TV show than it ever did as movies, so let’s keep our fingers crossed and hope it works out for the best.
