  • Portal 2: Is It Worth The Hype? 3 CommentsPosted by Shubhankar Parijat on August 26, 2010 under Editorials, Previews, Website
Valve is probably the most exalted PC game developer in the market right now. Probably even more than Blizzard. Of course, Blizzard used to be totally invincible at a time- Warcraft, Starcraft, Diablo, and many others are till date regarded as some of the best PC games ever. But that is a thing of the past. Today, in the time of High Definition, of Graphics, of God of War and Halo, nothing, nothin... more.

Halo. The most prestigious, the most loved, the most grandiose shooter franchise of all time. It is said that console shooters would be nothing if it weren't for Halo. Halo: Combat Evolved is to console shooters what Half Life is to PC shooters. Often placed amongst the likes of Goldeneye 007 and Half Life 2, all Halo games are, definitely, some of the most influential and qualitative titles out t... more.

  • Call of Duty: Black Ops- Call of Duty’s Return To Glory? 14 CommentsPosted by Shubhankar Parijat on August 20, 2010 under Editorials, Previews, Website
Call of Duty is one of the most respected shooter franchises right now. Often compared with the likes of Halo and Goldeneye, Call of Duty is obviously a very influential, and a very high quality series. Lately, though, respect for the franchise has been dwindling, especially after the release of Modern Warfare 2. MW2 gets a lot of hate from everybody- CoD fanboys or not. And for good reason. Thoug... more.
  • WTH! Halo Reach running on the PlayStation 3?! 21 CommentsPosted by Rashid Sayed on August 9, 2010 under Previews
This is really funny. We came across this funny image which shows Halo Reach, a Xbox 360 exclusive running on a PlayStation 3  kisok. Apparently the store used their only display unit in the Games section to help promote a new game in order to create interest and potential revenue for the store. A clear case of popping a dvd in a wrong hardware.  Check the image out.... more.

The story of Metroid: Other M has been one of sheer cynicism and initial sceptisicm, followed by gradually growing cautious optimism, until now, finally, as the release of the game is less than a month away, unbriddled anticipation. Announced at E3 last year as a collaboration between Team Ninja and the original development team of Metroid games, Metroid: Other M instantly stood out for a variety... more.

I have been waiting for Backbreaker to release for a very long time now. I think I originally saw it in a subscription to a gaming magazine I had purchased nearly 2 years ago. Finally I got my grubby little paws on the demo and within the following weeks I will actually have the full copy. For now, I get to give my opinions on the demo that I downloaded from the Play Station Network. I really have... more.

Metal Gear Solid, a franchise which has spanned over two decades (24 years to be precise) is one of the most respected series around in the video games industry. The series has always been heavily convoluted with thick plot lines and played with complex terms likes gene, meme and information technology. This is a video of the Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood multiplayer being played live at E3 2010.  The narrator walks through some of the highlights and the features of the multiplayer in the game.  It looks like it could be very cool while on the other hand, the Assassin's Creed games have never attempted to give a game in the series a multiplayer mode.  So this could go both ways, but we will kn... more.
  • E3 2010: Call of Duty: Black Ops Preview/Interview 0 CommentsPosted by Jim Girgenti on June 21, 2010 under Interviews, News, Previews, Video News
At E3 2010, Call of Duty: Black Ops was not playable, but I was shown a demo of two separate levels.  The first level currently called "WMD" begins with you in control of an SR-71 Blackbird that as this point is just for reconnaissance, so after you take off, you are really just looking at a radar screen spotting enemies for the team below you.  An SR-71 can fly up 80,000 feet above ground, so i... more.

“So there is this Transformers game coming out, its a third person shooter like Gears of War, has a bunch of Transformers from the original series, and actually looks really good.” This statement is almost impossible to believe, given the history of Transformers videogames, but after getting my hands on the Transformers: War for Cybertron Multiplayer Demo, we just might have a great Transforme... more.

  • Planet Minigolf Previewed 0 CommentsPosted by Sam Mcneil on June 14, 2010 under Previews
Initially I was skeptical on how good this game would actually be, and I must say that I had basically predetermined my decision based on the history of mini golf games. It wasn’t until I actually played the first few holes that I realized I had made a grave mistake doubting it. Planet Minigolf is actually a decently fun game with cartoony but stimulating visuals. Normally mini golf games are ju... more.

What happens when you take a favorite childhood toy, popular movie franchises, and video games? You get brilliance. The Lego games have always delivered a strong “sit down and have fun” atmosphere. Where some games are enjoyable thr... more.
