One lucky user has apparently got his hands on The Last of Us Remastered on the PS4, giving us our first look at the gameplay. Please note that the video below may have potential spoilers in it so view it at your own discretion. The video gives us our first look at the gameplay of The Last of Us Remastered.

Sony and Naughty Dog have not released any gameplay footage prior to launch and this video gives a good enough indication about what to expect in terms of visual upgrades. The game looked gorgeous on the PlayStation 3 and it obviously looks even better on the PlayStation 4.

The Last of Us Remastered is due on July 29th in North America and August 1st in Europe. For more on the game, check out our hub page here or read our review here.

      youtube compression happened

    • You are flat out wrong’s mom

      so did lying to yourself

    • Not_true

Once again, the ignorant are trying to judge visual quality based on low res, 30 fps youtube videos.

    • Russell Gorall

Direct us to the link of the developer/publisher’s footage of the game?

“To answer the question everyone’s been asking, frame-rate isn’t locked to 60fps, but The Last of Us Remastered does spend the vast majority of its time at the optimal refresh. The game holds its 60 fps lock well for the vast majority of its duration.”

Stop spreading fanboy lies, FUD, and hatred. You are wrong and malicious.

      Bad porting happened, also?

  • spideynut71

And now we know why they haven’t shown any footage yet. Doesn’t even look like it’s 60fps, and still has the same flat textures and dull color palette as the PS3 version.

    • Not_true

It’s impossible to judge quality of a 1080p 60 fps game based on badly compressed 720p 30 fps youtube footage.

Multiple people who have played the leaked game have stated that it runs at a solid 60 fps with almost no framedrops.

    • Russell Gorall

One might also say it is impossible to judge if it runs at 60fps.

If the developer has something different to show, they will show it.

You see the gameplay in front of your eyes and then state what the quotes are from people who played the leak are. You can’t have it both ways.

A 720p heavily compressed video running at 30fps……. WHY!?

  • Russell Gorall

Now I know why they weren’t showing gameplay, it looks like a year old port.

  • D THA-KIDD

    I dunno about this :/

  • starscream1180

looks the same as the ps3 version … i thought the differences would be noticeable

    • Not_true

How are you going to notice 1080p 60 fps when the youtube video is 720p 30 fps?

    • starscream1180

if you post a video comparison of the master chief collection halo2 , you could view that in 200p and still see the huge differences in graphics….

    • Exactly. The graphical differences shouldn’t just be resolution and frame rate after all.

  • That’s the PS3 version. He’s BSing. Watch walkthroughs on TLOU from PS3 and compare.

    • jacksjus

I agree. I think it would have long been blocked by now if it were official.

    • Russell Gorall

If it was official it would be taken down?

If the developer put it out it would be taken down?

      Think about this.

    • jacksjus

Official PS4 footage. It looks like the PS3 version. If ND and Sony hasn’t shown anything then why would they allow this to run on YouTube all day before release?

      Think about this.

    • Russell Gorall

I agree it looks bad. I played the first hour of it on PS3, and most of watching that movie looked about the same.

    • Jeffrey Kuhl

It actually looks different than PS3, but it’s a youtube video running at 720p and 30fps.

    • No it doesn’t. Feel free to watch this Walkthrough http://youtu.be/HawhjjF5qFc to compare. They are exactly the same. The person who published this “remastered” walkthrough is fooling you.

    • Looks exactly like the PS3 version. I think you’re right.

  • You are flat out wrong’s mom

    looks last gen…

  • Michael Norris

If anyone thought ND was going to remake this game you all are morons. The whole point of this remastered was to sell the game to those owners who skipped Ps3 also,ND is using this time to get used to their development tools.

  • Michael Norris

Youtube just kills the the details also it’s running at 720p.

    • Russell Gorall

While I agree, it looks like PS3 Youtube footage. I downloaded it and watched it on TV, it looks slightly different than the PS3 game.

You generally have a corridor shooter, strapped with cutscenes and small areas. Maybe four slow moving enemies at a time.

Share the link to the HQ footage of a publisher trying to sell a year old game for fifty bucks?

  • remy nova

Definitely the ps3 version. Look at tess face on part 3 at 1:40. Gamingbolt not to be trusted.

  • Jeffrey Kuhl

People commenting are morons. This is a youtube video that can’t show the actual visuals. Nobody will know what the awesomeness is until they play the game themselves. Quit making negative comments because you are just proving your ignorance.

  • PixelOmen

It’s funny how everyone is shocked that It looks really similar to the PS3 version. Sure, it’ll look a little better uncompressed and at 1080p, but don’t fool yourself into thinking that’s going to make a huge difference, it’s just going to be a little clearer.
