At E3 last year, Microsoft and The Coalition revealed three new Gears of War games, and though Gears 5 understandable stole the headlines, one more game that looked like an interesting prospect was- well, it wasn’t Gears POP! No, it was Gears Tactics, the XCOM-style tactical strategy game.

Since last year, we’ve all been wondering whether this is a game that’s going to be exclusive to PC audiences, or if it’s something that Xbox One owners will get to play as well- now we have confirmation that it’s going to be a latter. Answering a question on Twitter about who the game is being developed by and whether it will ever release on Xbox, The Coalition studio head Rod Fergusson stated that Gears Tactics is being developed by Splash Damage, and will indeed be coming to Xbox One.

Of course, we don’t know when it’ll be coming to Xbox One, since the game simply doesn’t have a release date yet- though The Coalition did give an update on the game’s development a couple months ago. Meanwhile, Gears POP! is out today, while Gears 5 releases for Xbox One and PC on September 10. For the latter, make sure you check out its Horde mode gameplay and its new campaign trailer.
