Leaked GTA 5 Map Reveals New Details: Activities, Stores, Insane Scale And More

This is insanely massive.

We don’t want to play spoiler sport but this just has to be seen to be believed: Grand Theft Auto 5’s world map has been leaked a week ahead of the game’s release. And boy, it’s massive. Check out the images below for a proper sense of scale. The one on the left indicates a small portion of the map while the image on the right shows that portion in context with the rest of the world.

See that little circled portion? That appears to be a small town of shorts, situated right next to a massive mountain (which has the now infamous shack). You’ll be able to explore these areas, each with their own activities and then climb up the mountain…but insanely enough, that makes up probably 4 or 5 percent of the total map.

As we stated, simply gargantuan. But that’s not all. Several icons can also be identified if you look at the map closely. There are parachutes, t-shirts, flags, house with dollar signs over them, and much more. These different icons most likely present different activites and stores – for example, the tennis racket denotes courts where you can play tennis while the gun icon denotes stores where you can stock up on weaponry. There are even gun reticules which indicate shooting ranges.

There are also police stations (badges), lookout spots (binoculars), car customization (spray cans), barbers (scissors), marathons (stick figures) and even movie theatres (movie reels). What can you spot on closer examination?

Grand Theft Auto V will release on September 17th for Xbox 360 and PS3.
