Overwatch Free Weekend Announced For September 22nd

New players can try out the entire game sans Competitive Play, free of charge.

If you’ve never played Overwatch before, then next weekend will be your best chance to try it out, free of charge. Blizzard has announced via the official blog that its hero shooter will have a free weekend on September 22nd, 11 AM PDT which will run till September 25th, 11:59 PM PT.

Aside from Competitive Play, players can try out the entire game free of charge for the weekend. All maps, the Server Browser, heroes and much more along with the ability to grind for Loot Boxes will be available. Any progress made on your account will transfer over into the full game if you decide to purchase it.

Such a free weekend actually comes at a good time since Junkertown will releasing on September 19th along with changes to Mercy and D.Va. Aside from that, players can try out the new Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch modes, the new Highlights system and much more.
