Microsoft has finally announced the price of the Xbox One in Japan – both with Kinect and without it – and the launch titles that will be included.

The Xbox One will retail with Kinect at ¥49,980 (£291 or $490). The Xbox One without Kinect will cost ¥39,980 (£233 or $392). The latter is actually the same price of the PlayStation 4 in Japan so that’s a good thing. Launch titles include Forza Motorsport 5, Kinect Sports Rivals, Dead Rising 3 and Ryse: Son of Rome. Square Enix has promised its fair share of titles for Japan including Tomb Raider Definitive Edition, Murdered: Soul Suspect, Thief and Call of Duty: Ghosts but we’ll need to wait for more information on the same.

The PlayStation 4 had a very strong start in Japan but has since faltered in the sales charts with exclusives failing to place in the top 10. What are your thoughts on the Xbox One in Japan? Let us know in the comments.

While xbox isn’t really big in Japan, I think if they have good exclusives it’ll do well.
As well as the Ps4 when it gets some more. I feel like most gamers over there are all about the games, rather than console hype.

The PS4 has been trending behind *Wii U* since launch, and this week, it was outsold outright by Wii U. It hasn’t been doing close to well in Japan. I want to say Microsoft won’t either, especially given the country’s historic disinterest in the Xbox, but then I remember Saturn and Sega, and realize there may actually be hope.
