After selling 2.7 million copies in its first week, IO Interactive’s 007 First Light has reached four million units sold. Released last May, it’s available for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC.
While that might not seem all that impressive on the surface, especially considering the long development period, Circana’s Mat Piscatella recently reported that it’s the second-highest-selling title in the United States year-to-date. It’s only behind Resident Evil Requiem, which has sold seven million units since launch.
Of course, despite the heavier narrative focus, its launch is far from the end for IO Interactive. It’s working on a port for Nintendo Switch 2, which could launch on September 16th, according to listings on Amazon US and Japan. There’s also a roadmap with new content – the first update dropped last July and added two new TacSim missions, three unlockable weapons, and more.
007 First Light is also set to receive features like New Game Plus, Path Tracing support on PC, and a new gadget in the form of the G2 Glasses. If that wasn’t enough, players will reunite with Bawma in a brand-new mission which could involve the famous Golden Gun.
Stay tuned for more details, and in the meantime, check out our review of the base game, which we quite enjoyed.
