Batman: Arkham City
Before Marvel’s Spider-Man, Batman: Arkham City was (and still is, by many) considered the bar for open-world superhero games. As a follow-up to Arkham Asylum, it took the Freeflow Combat, art direction, exploration and puzzle-solving into an open-world space while evolving it further.
There were memorable villains like Two-Face, Ra’s al Ghul, and The Joker to fight, and some of the coolest sequences, like punching a shark (it makes sense, trust us). The sheer number of collectibles, range of activities – from AR Challenges to side cases – and incredible presentation still stand out today.
