6. WWF Smackdown! 2: Know Your Role
There was an odd period in the late 90s/early 2000s where wrestling became cool. One of the defining factors of this was certainly WWF Smackdown. Offering decent character creation, a fun and non-linear season mode and addictive arcade action, Smackdown got a whole generation of kids into watching sweaty guys grapple each other (he says attempting to justify it.) Smackdown 2 raised the stakes even higher, with more characters, better customisation and more turnbuckle action. It offered pretty much everything Saturday morning Smackdown did, but with more action and less poorly written drama.
