Need for Speed Payback
Also known as the Need for Speed that got everything wrong, Payback is just a bad time all around. Could you imagine a Need for Speed title, much less one centered around street racing, not having normal police chases during free roam (they instead trigger from an activity called bait crates)? Or relying on loot boxes tied to microtransactions for customizing one’s vehicle? Or terrible racing mechanics that cross the fine line between simulation and arcade into straight-up nonsense? While Fortune Valley isn’t completely worthless, it was still a slog to play through especially when the main story missions were overtly scripted and terribly executed.
