Fallout 76
If you’ve been following Fallout 76 since launch, then you likely heard about its many, many problems at the time. From nukes that crashed the server and thousands upon thousands of bugs to lackluster side quests, no human NPCs and a story that played out over audio logs, it was a mess. Did we mention it was inherently ugly and unappealing? Bethesda has improved things and added new content over time, whether it’s limited-time events, the return of Factions, extensive quest lines involving actual NPCs like in Wastelanders, or Vaults to explore in raids (though these were subsequently removed). And it’s all…fine. Nothing inherently amazing compared to other live-service titles but definitely better than launch. It’s definitely not for everyone and compared to some of the very best open world games in the past few years, Fallout 76 still feels several steps behind in terms of design and story-telling.
