Metro 2033

Metro 2033 was a very interesting take on the post apocalyptic world with some of the best visuals you have ever seen in a first person shooter game. Metro 2033 is based on the novel of the same name by Russian author Dmitry Glukhovsky, and copies of the book have cameos at various points in the game. The plot is narrated at intervals by the player character, Artyom, who is seen in the opening cinematic writing about his experiences, as well as during cut-scenes and FMV sequences. I admit that the game had some issues like inconsistent AI and clunky controls, but Metro 2033 is simply a game that should have been bought by every first person shooter lover.

Lead and Gold Gangs of the Wild

If you enjoy playing Team Fortress 2 and or Left 4 Dead, than this is a close western mock-up. Those who had expressed so much negativity towards this game are in fact looking for something else, and most likely going into it with the wrong mindset that a fifteen dollar game deserves. Overall I’d have to say that this is a buy, go get it instead of that large pizza, you’ll thank me later.

Valykria Chronicles 2

Just like its predecessor, no one played this game. The sequel was made on the PSP instead of the PS3 which didn’t go down too well with the fans. But, Valkyria Chronicles 2 is as good the first one. This unique SRPG with an impressive watercolor, cell shaded graphics impresses on the PSP as well. I recommend you to play the first game because the story carries over here. The gameplay mechanics are incredibly similar and there is a lot of strategy involved here, which makes it highly satisfying. It is a bit expensive for a PSP title, but considering the massive content and production value that raises the bar on the PSP, buying it is a no brainer.

Deadly Premonition

Yeah, the visuals aren’t that great or polished and it’s technically terrible but what makes it so special is the fact that it’s an incredibly entertaining game. You must have heard of the phrase “it’s so bad, it’s good” that’s exactly what Deadly Premonition stands for. This horror game with a weird but entertaining cast of characters surprisingly manages to immerse you in the game. The silly plot, hilarious cutscenes and the fact that it’s available for cheap makes this game a must buy. Deadly Premonition is not for those who can’t stand half assed production values, but if you can deal with its faults, you will end up satisfied by the time you finish it. Guaranteed.
