5. Multi-Platform Games
Back in the days before the PS2 generation came along, your console of choice was a weighty decision. It totally dictated what games you had access to in a way that just isn't seen today. Multi-Platform Games only began to appear regularly in the PS2 generation, but this phenomenon has escalated since the dawn of the 360 and PS3 to the point where your choice in console doesn't shut out quite so many game experiences. It also gives you a better selection of games without having to fork over for multiple consoles. The lack of exclusives and system sellers is a different issue altogether, but multi-platform gems have been a welcome development of this generation.
