4. Augmented Reality

Leaked Kinect 2.0 documents from some time ago hinted that Microsoft were dabbling in augmented reality games for next gen Kinect. There's little information as to whether this is still going ahead but, if it is, history has provided a lot of evidence that augmented reality games aren't taking off on traditional platforms. The 3DS and Vita's AR efforts in particular have been underwhelming, resulting in the feeling that, outside of smart phone platforms, augmented reality isn't really a good idea.
