CYBERPUNK 2077
The disastrous launch of Cyberpunk 2077 is always going to have a place in the history books of the games industry, unfortunately, and one of the many, many areas where the game turned out to be a bitter disappointment was the AI department. During combat sections, enemies seemed incapable of protecting themselves, given how they were more than happy to keep running right into gunfire and refusing to take cover. What was most disappointing, however, was how civilian NPCs behaved, with completely barebones and often nonexistent reactions to even the most chaotic things happening in front of them. The police AI, meanwhile, was essentially nonexistent. All of it detracted from the experience severely, and thanks to how immersion-breaking these issues were, ended up harming the quality of the world itself as well.
