5. I Wanna Be The Guy
A crazy flash game reliant on distorted references to other games, players are drawn by the intertextuality but stay for the unheard of level of challenge. I Wanna Be The Guy doesn't just challenge players, it goes out of its way to ensure that they can't succeed. Resistance is futile in IWBTG. My only advice would be to avoid it if you aren't in a great mood, as this game is easily enough to tip you over the edge and into the depths of despair.
