… AND THE STORY IS STILL BAD

Even if you do do all the required reading beforehand, and you can follow everything that is going on in Final Fantasy 15 without problems, there is no escaping the fact that the story in the game is bad. It’s nonsensical, with nothing of note happening (at least not on screen- several major developments actually happen of screen), and although the ending is almost satisfactory, it cannot make up for the trainwreck that the rest of the story is. For a series as traditionally focused on storytelling as Final Fantasy, this is a major problem, and not one that fans are likely to appreciate.
