NO MORE PLATFORMING

God of War

God of War (2018) introduced a drastic change in gameplay style, changing its camera perspective and the kind of action its combat was defined by, and those changes were felt in other areas as well. For instance, platforming was once a pretty important part of the older God of War games, as Kratos walked over beams, dodged buzzsaws and blades, used his Icarus wings to get past large gaps and whatnot. In God of War, those sections are almost entirely gone. Now, the game itself, in isolation, doesn’t suffer from not having platforming sections- but we still miss those, because of how good they (usually) were in the older God of War games. Seeing some platforming section peppered in here and there would definitely have helped with more variety in gameplay, so here’s hoping that’s something the developers consider for the sequel.
