GTA games have often been at the centre of controversy surrounding real world violence. One of the most notable instances of the same was the shooting of a couple of police officers. Attorney Jack Thompson would then take Rockstar and Sony to court, claiming that the shooter responsible had been recreated his violent acts within GTA Vice City. The court, however, clearly didn’t agree with him, believing the game to be protected by the First Amendment, and promptly throwing the case out.
