MORTAL KOMBAT
Back in 1997, a 13 year old boy was tragically killed when he was stabbed by his friend. His mother would go on to sue Midway Games, the developers of Mortal Kombat, alleging that the person who stabbed her son had been addicted to the fighter, and was imitating one of the game’s infamous Fatalities when her son had died. The court, however, felt that the game was protected by the First Amendment, and that Midway Games couldn’t be charged with product liability.
