Hiding In Cardboard Boxes Or Water Barrels
Easily one of the most recognizable stealth game elements, hiding in cardboard boxes was first popularized by Konami’s Metal Gear Solid. This idea would then be adapted by multiple games such as the likes of Sly Cooper and The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker by changing up cardboard boxes for items such as water barrels. But the point remains, it is not at all realistic!
First of all, how can a fully-grown-up soldier like Snake manage to fit into a cardboard box at moments unnoticed, and how can he traverse while hiding in it without ever feeling suffocated? Yes, we get it. He trained for hardened situations, but a cardboard box, seriously? This mechanic is so unrealistic that it’s straight-up hilarious. But I guess that’s the point of it all.
