Silenced Pistols

Silenced weapons are one of the most important parts of any stealth game’s arsenal. However, the catch is that they don’t behave in a realistic fashion at all. You see, suppressors can help a fair deal with numbing gun sounds but it isn’t anywhere near in what you see in games like Splinter Cell where a guard two feet away wouldn’t hear the sounds of gunshots just because a suppressor is attached to your pistol or SMG. In real-life, suppressors can lower sounds to an extent where you might not need to wear ear protection while firing – but don’t expect them to work in a similar vein to their video game representations.
