#3. STAR WARS ROGUE SQUADRON II: ROGUE LEADER
The Rogue Squadron games are proof that Star Wars games don’t need to have lightsabers or first person shooting to be absolute masterpieces, and Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader was the peak of this trilogy. Not only did it deliver thrilling, fast-paced dogfighting combat that a Star Wars fan simply couldn’t help but fall in love with – which already sounds like the most excellent thing ever – it was also, at the time, an absolute looker. Rogue Squadron II was a phenomenal looking (and sounding) game, and though in retrospect it obviously does not hold up as well – visually, at least – we haven’t forgotten the wonder we felt when we first saw it in action.
