Tillamook Bay, Garibaldi and More – Life is Strange and Life is Strange: Before the Storm

Dontnod’s Life is Strange and Deck Nine’s Life is Strange: Before the Storm are set primarily in Arcadia Bay, an unassuming town that’s swelling with mystery. It’s inspired by areas in the Tillamook Bay area in the Pacific Northwest of the US with Garibaldi, Oregon serving as the main reference. The harbor, beach, saw mill and much more in Garibaldi served as inspirations for in-game locations (though not exactly 1:1 as seen with Blackwell Academy). Of course, numerous other locations in Oregon helped shape the location from Lincoln City and Oceanside to Bay City and Newport.
