If Microsoft do choose to stick with Xbox Live Gold, they at least need to offer better value for the price that they demand. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate surely does that, and that includes Xbox Live Gold subscriptions as well, but if you purchase Gold subscriptions individually, you don’t get too much bang for your buck. Unlike PS Plus, which usually offers excellent free games on a consistent basis, the free games that Microsoft offers with Games with Gold are very rarely anything to be impressed by. If we’re paying for online, we should at least get better perks, so here’s hoping Microsoft makes improvements on that front.
