The Gears series is one of Microsoft’s flagship franchises, still carrying strong after the groundbreaking and seminal first title on the Xbox 360, blending third-person-shooting, cover mechanics, and a long story of struggle against the vicious Locusts. While we can expect more of the same in terms of an involved story and the cornerstone multiplayer experience that has been essential to the games since the beginning, the Gears franchise is set to follow protagonist Kait Diaz in Gears 5, which promises more insight into the origin of the Locusts.
