Battletoads
Originally announced at E3 2018, Battletoads is currently planned to see its newest release this year. There is nothing in the way of gameplay to view at the moment, but the gravity of the announcement itself, the return of the iconic and classic beat-em-up franchise, was enough to set fans into a tailspin of hype. And the reaction is understandable – it has been years of teasing from Microsoft for Battletoads, while there hasn’t actually been a new Battletoads game released since Battletoads Arcade – in the 90s. The re-release of Battletoads arcade for the Xbox One isn’t the same as playing a new game altogether. With the rise of the indies on all platforms, the demand for beat-em-ups should be alive and well, giving Battletoads a good home once it launches.
