MICROSOFT’S STANCE ON GAME PRESERVATION
Game preservation (or its lack thereof) has become a hot topic of conversation of late, and it seems Microsoft is the only company that’s willing to go the extra mile for it. Nintendo hasn’t supported backward compatibility in a while, while Sony recently announced that the digital stores for PS3, PSP, and PS Vita would be going offline. Appropriately enough, Microsoft promptly fired off a tweet talking about the importance of game preservation, and there was no doubt in anybody’s mind what triggered the tweet. Thankfully, Sony has since then walked back on its decision to close the PS Vita and PS3 stores, so there’s that.
