WATCH DOGS AS IMMERSIVE SIM
Immersive sims are all about creating a living, breathing, atmospheric world, and then making players interact with that world more deeply than most other games allow you to do- it’s all in the name, really. The likes of Deus Ex and Dishonored give players an incredible amount of options to tackle almost every single new challenge, and that’s an approach that could work with Watch Dogs very well. When you consider the series’ combination of hacking, stealth, combat, and its elements of parkour, the seeds for giving players a multitude of options to interact with a dynamic and reactive world are definitely there. Watch Dogs: Legion, in fact, is looking like it’s going to take that even further with how many playable characters it will have (pretty much infinite) and how much they will all differ from each other, mechanically speaking (quite a bit, hopefully).
