METROID AS SURVIVAL HORROR
Let’s stick with survival horror for just a while longer. Metroid games are already dark, atmospheric, and creepy, and are all about a lone person exploring desolate and abandoned locations infested with terrifying aliens. As far as the scares are concerned, Metroid is already pretty much there. Then you add some survival horror mechanics on top of that – perhaps Samus’ gun has charges, and she needs to keep finding battery packs that will serve as ammo, and stuff along those lines – and what you have is a perfectly serviceable (to say the least) survival horror Metroid game.
