At the time, Square Enix’s Nier was unique for implementing numerous endings that only unlocked with successive playthroughs. Ending A was for the first playthrough, Ending B for the second and so on. Ending D is perhaps the strangest as Nier can make everyone forget about him, even to the extent of deleting your save file. You can’t even start a new game with the same name, such are the extremes this memory wipe goes to. How do you top that?
