Contrived endings in Star Wars aren’t as new as most people who didn’t like The Last Jedi would have you believe. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2 followed the journey of a clone of Starkiller as he struggled with his memories from the last game and a past life, as well as his nature as a clone. The canonical good ending sees Starkiller capture Darth Vader for the rebellion, and though they hand wave and sequel bait the act with Boba Fett following their ship, a mostly untrained apprentice taking down the dark lord of the Sith is hard to swallow.
