Hype be damned – here’s what you should look out for in 2015.
On the surface, Bloodborne may not exactly scream “must have”. If one had no knowledge of the Demon’s Souls or Dark Souls franchise, you’d think that Bloodborne is just another dungeon crawler set in a gothic, Victorian-esque town gone demonic. The good news is that even if you’re not a big fan of Dark Souls’ style of gameplay, Bloodborne will reward players for taking a more offensive approach to combat. You’ll have more variety when it comes to weapons – in place of shields, there are now firearms for stunning enemies and knocking them back.
Some weapons even have alternate modes, such as the cleaver that becomes a long sword when the situation calls for it. This is still a From Software game though so don’t expect it to be a cakewalk. It’s a brand new approach to the formula that will reward riskier players while still being open to your average hack and slash RPG fan.
