Overwatch

Blizzard Entertainment’s Overwatch has been created from some of the best portions of the former Project Titan’s PvP aspects. Let that be a testament to the shelved MMO’s ambitions when its PvP gameplay can be spun off into an entirely separate game. The kicker is Overwatch’s atmosphere and sheer character depth and variety.

Despite the game being multiplayer-centric and seemingly a first person shooter, there are so many different styles of play that it’s disorienting. You can fight tower defense style with Symmetra and Torbjorn, take up a sniping job with Widowmaker (who can move from building to building with her grappling hook) or Hanzo who employs magical techniques and sensor arrows to track enemies, attack head-on in either projectile form (Pharah) or melee combat (Reinhardt) or an unorthodox mix of the two (Zenyatta and Winston).

Throw in a bunch of well-designed arenas and an amazing art style, and you’ve got something special in Overwatch. The beta for the game lands in 2015 so we’ll be looking forward to how it plays.
