The Order 1886 – Cinematic Look And Feel

Now, to be absolutely fair, I need to get two things out of the way first:

  • I hate games that emphasize cinematism over gameplay
  • Cinematic games (or games with cinematic feel) have been a thing for a pretty long time. Hell, David Cage’s games on PS3 are a great starting point if this kind of thing interests you

Having said that, though, The Order accomplishes it all on a level that no other game has simply done it yet. It looks every bit as good (and as ‘cinematic’) as the best looking David Cage game (it actually looks better), and it does all of that without sacrificing any of its gameplay. If third person shooters are your thing, then it looks like The Order will set a new bar for emotive storytelling within its genre all the while delivering a rousing third person shooter adventure.
