Mother Brain – Super Metroid
A stellar boss battle for a classic Metroid title, Mother Brain seemed to follow the same pattern as her Metroid iteration. Samus bypasses her defenses, avoiding turrets and lava, and shoots the exposed brain to win. However, things are subverted when Mother Brain recovers and starts walking with a body of her own, firing powerful lasers that almost kill Samus. It’s only with the help of a Metroid that Samus survives, gains the Hyper Beam and puts an end to Mother Brain forever.
