While the industry has moved to a place where AAA development now takes anywhere between 2 to 5 years, if not more (depending on how large the game is, or how smooth the development process is), things weren’t always this way. Back in the day, games were cobbled together incredibly quickly. That’s true for Wolfenstein 3D, one of the most highly influential and fiercely beloved games ever made as well. id Software put together the entire title in just three months- imagine that. In three months, they changed the entire industry.
