Requiring specific attacks to defeat
Freedom and player expression are the cornerstones of any great combat system, so it makes complete sense that enemies that require very specific attacks to defeat would stick out like a sore thumb. Think of Shamblers in The Last of Us. These gargantuan baddies wouldn’t go down unless players shoot at very specific weak points – which is easier said than done. Most melee-focused action games also have such enemy types too which are all annoying to deal with in a similar manner.
