RESIDENT EVIL 7 REVEAL – E3 2016

Much like God of War, Resident Evil had been in dire need of a reinvention until quite recently, and E3 2016 was when we got our first look at that reinvention. And it was orchestrated perfectly by Capcom. After sending an experimental first person horror demo out into the world – one that hardly anyone figured was related to Resident Evil – they debuted a trailer at Sony’s show that was spooky, terrifying, and incredibly atmospheric, with a horror vibe and a first person perspective that felt entirely unlike Resident Evil. Best of all, though, was the fact that it wasn’t until the very last moment – when the VII written on-screen morphed into the game’s full name – that we all came to realize that this was actually Resident Evil. It was a spectacular reveal, there are no two ways about it.
