Crash Bandicoot 1-3
Naughty Dog’s second entry on this rundown, Crash Bandicoot – a 3D platformer – rode the coattails of Super Mario 64 but did it with pixel-perfect swagger, sublime art direction, and a loveable mascot almost as iconic as Nintendo’s plucky Italian plumber. Subsequent sequels Cortex Strikes Back and Warped introduced more mechanics, and more challenging boss battles, but the core personality remained intact throughout. Crash Bandicoot is an icon of mid-90s PlayStation, and well worth reliving via the excellent remastered N. Sane Trilogy.
