The Last of Us
While we were exposed to the post-apocalyptic world of The Last of Us before its release, the actual beginning of the game hits differently. It sees Joel returning home from work to his daughter Sarah, who surprises him with a birthday present. Eventually, Sarah falls asleep, only to be awoken by a frantic call from her uncle Tommy. Upon locating her father, total pandemonium ensues with the three doing everything they can to survive against the infected. Unfortunately, Sarah doesn’t, leading to one of the more heart-breaking moments in the game.
