Before Gears of War wowed everyone with its cover-based third-person shooting, Namco USA unleashed Kill Switch three years earlier. The implementation reminded many of Time Crisis and offered a much different experience from other shooters at the time. Again, it didn’t set the world on fire but Kill Switch is at least credited for inspiring games like Uncharted and Gears of War with its cover system.
