Why did Capcom make a sci-fi third person shooter set in snowy environments? Your guess is as good as ours but Lost Planet was actually pretty interesting. Released first in 2007 for Xbox 360, the cold weather added a slight survival mechanic as players had to manage thermal energy levels. Lost Planet ended up selling nearly three million units on both PS3 and Xbox 360 by 2010 – not the highest sales or critical praise, for sure, but it still received two sequels.
