Dead to Rights

Remedy wowed everyone in 2001 with the introduction of Bullet Time, which lent a more stylish dynamic to combat. So while Namco Hometek clearly copied the mechanic for Dead to Rights, it looked to Hong Kong cinema for its style and gave you an AI dog that could chew up foes. Jack Slate’s rampage didn’t garner nearly as much of a reaction from critics, sadly, even with multiple sequels through the years. Sales figures aren’t available but the fact that there hasn’t been a sequel since Dead to Rights: Retribution in 2010 says a lot.
