Rapture – Bioshock
Billed as the ultimate Objectivist utopia, Bioshock’s Rapture ultimately became something completely different. The underwater setting and denizens were your first cues of wrongdoing. The game itself felt like a macabre tour through areas like Fort Frolic, Arcadia, Olympus Heights and Apollo Square, giving us a glimpse into this idealistic society led astray. However, it was the mystery surrounding the story, the foreboding of being guided, presumably for some higher purpose (and the betrayal that resulted from it) that helped Rapture resonate with us.
